“We had a wonderful visit with Sarah Sax. As a teacher, I was very impressed with her presentation. She had it broken down into three parts, all of which worked wonderfully. She started with an interesting presentation about her process, followed that up with a fun and interactive drawing activity, and then opened up the floor to questions. In each case, it was clear Sarah knew what she was doing and had command of the audience. The added bonus, she is a graphic novelist which is an area of huge interest for our students. All in all, it was a super successful visit, and we are grateful to Sarah for the visit.”

“Sarah Sax was an excellent guest for our library's tween graphic novel club! She was an engaging speaker and happy to answer our group's many questions, and she took their ideas seriously. She brought many original drawings and sketchbooks to share with the kids, and went over the makings of graphic novels from initial character ideas and sketches to outlines all the way to final pages -- it was very inspiring for our young artists and authors! At the end, she lead everyone in a fun drawing game that got even the shyest kids giggling along. It was a wonderful visit, and I'd highly recommend her for library events.”

“Sarah is incredible! She's such an engaging speaker & knows how to capture a crowd. The kids (& parents) in the audience were locked in the whole presentation and jumped at the chance to ask Sarah questions about herself & her career as an author/illustrator. The panelled storytelling activity she planned at the end sparked some incredible drawings from the kids and they loved being able to tell their own stories, with many of them walking away wanting to seriously pursue becoming an author themselves. Graphic novels are such a valuable part of today's literary landscape and I think it was a really incredible moment for a lot of the kids to see they can pursue writing and illustrating as a very real career. Sarah's passion is contagious & the way she speaks about her work is so inspiring, 10/10 would host again!”

Sarah Sax knows how to captivate her audience in a book and in person! She brings “the cool factors” that draws students in to creative writing and learning about the publishing industry. Students LOVE comics, history, choose-your-own-adventures and drawing. We did many pre-orders before her arrival and we’re stilling selling more books; the kids love them! Thank you for spending time with our students and igniting their excitement to read!”
